Ergonomics
Efficiency, effectiveness, productivity. These are legitimate goals for any employer. One can hardly blame them since these goals are the very essence of a competitive company. For their part, ergonomists ensure that everything runs smoothly for the physical and mental health of an individual or group of workers.
Everyone can profit from an ergonomic approach that focuses on needs and challenges, aiming to assess the activity in a physical and social environment and taking into account the specific operating procedures for using the work tools.
What if the work can be done without pain, with less stress and fatigue and in good spirit?

Several methods can be deployed to avoid physical or mental injuries caused by a poorly adapted work environment or structure.
Workstation analysis
Analysis objectives:
- Identify stress/risk factors that can cause or aggravate a problem
- Opinion on work tasks and functional limitations given by a doctor
- Adjust or design a work situation/issue recommendations
Analysis procedures:
- Assessment of targeted activity, including work structure
- Assessment of the physical layout/equipment/work tools
- Observations of the worker procedures
- Training and recommendations
- On-the-job follow-up to integrate recommendations as needed
Office ergonomics
Objectives:
- Ergonomic design of an office workstation according to the workers needs
- Identify the stress/risk factors that can cause or aggravate a problem
- Adjust the work situation/make recommendations
- Support for the choice of equipment/furniture as needed
Procedures:
- Assessment of the targeted activity, including work organization

In-company training
We offer personalized physical health and mental health training for your company. This can be presented as a workshop or conference (variable duration from 60 minutes to a full day). Courses include theoretical elements that are interspersed with practical exercises and real-life examples. In the case of training for office ergonomics instructors, we provide participants with the tools needed to train their colleagues afterwards.
Workshop-style training uses practical exercises and real-life situations to develop observational skills and methods of facilitating change. Training structure will be determined with the project team.
Some examples of ergonomics training that can be provided:
- Office ergonomics training
- Instructor training
- Handling training
- Prevention of musculoskeletal disorders
Procedures:
- Training or workshop preparation and adjustment according to your specific needs
- The training itself
Ergonomic analysis (focusing on one aspect or design analysis)
Ergonomic analysis is an objective, rigorous process. It enables the assessment and adjustment of the work to the worker according to the targeted elements. An ergonomic approach improves the health and work performance of a worker or group of workers. The analysis targets performance problems and increased chance of injury in a position, a department or when using a tool or equipment.
Ergonomic analysis also assists with a workstation design. It makes it possible to evaluate the various elements of the work and the tasks, to support the engineers and designers in optimizing the space and to better adapt the workstation or the tools to the workers. In short, this approach makes it possible to identify risk factors and recommend realistic and achievable solutions.
Analysis objectives:
- Improve problem areas
- Reduce the risk of design error
- Facilitate adoption of new equipment and improve procedures
- Decrease the risk of musculoskeletal disorders
- Increase productivity and comfort at work
Procedures:
- Analysis of incident reports, if any
- Data collection: interviews with experienced workers, questionnaires
- Assessment and observation of the work activity according to the issues
- Assessment of physical layout/equipment/work tools/organization
- Report including hypothesis, analysis and recommendations
